Rope Access Supervisor

Global Construction Services is a diversified construction services group that provides a range of products and services in the commercial, industrial and residential market sectors of the construction, mining, oil & gas, maintenance and housing industries.

GCS industrial Services Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic casual and full time Rope Access Supervisor with experience working in offshore and remote locations. To supervise the daily Rope Access activities in accordance with relevant legislative requirements and in line with the GCS Vision and Mission Statement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the work and the workers proceed in accordance with the GCS code of practice, in the manner set out in the documentation for the work project and with the aim of no accidents, no waste and no defects (known as zero targeting).
  • Competently supervise Rope Access activities, and any potential rescue for each Rope Access project under their supervision.
  • As part of duties to maintain a safe place of work, they should control any tendency of employees to work in an undisciplined manner by recording this behavior in their personal logbooks.  These comments should not be cancelled until all parties are completely satisfied that there would be no recurrence.
  • Liaise with the Line Manager, as required, throughout the day, to review project workload.
  • Coordination and distribution of workload to Rope Access personnel in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure Handover Certificates are completed where applicable, and signed off by the Client.

ESSENTIAL:

  • IRATA Qualified
  • Current “C” Class Drivers Licence
  • Experience managing maintenance teams in offshore environments
  • Section 44 Training – Appointed Persons
  • MSIC
  • Microsoft Office - Advanced
  • Safety Awareness Training Card (White Card)
  • Trade Certificate

DESIRABLE:

  • High Risk Work Licence (Scaffolding)
  • Frontline Management qualifications or similar
  • Site inducted (FMG, RIO)
  • BOSIET / UKOOA Medical
